Birmingham’s twitterati are in for a treat – a new movie group being set up by the Broad Street Business Improvement District (BID) and Cineworld.

With around 9,000 users of the popular social networking site, Twitter, in Birmingham, this newest venture is set to be a huge success.

The group – @BrumMovieTweets – will invite followers to watch a new blockbusting movie release, whilst meeting and connecting with other users face to face. A first for the city of Birmingham, this new group will see an exciting line up of releases over the next few months, including the long anticipated ‘Avatar’ and ‘Nine’.

The first event will take place on Monday 16th November to see the epic disaster adventure ‘2012’. The showing will take place at 8.20pm, with people invited to gather in the bar from 7.15pm at Cineworld, Broad Street.

Paul Millington, General Manager at Cineworld, Broad Street said: “We are delighted to welcome Twitter users for these screenings. I’m sure the group will prove to be a great success and look forward to seeing some brilliant new movies with them”.
