Something for everyone this Christmas at Symphony Hall
A sparkling programme of Christmas treats lies ahead at Symphony Hall this December, with a huge selection of performances ranging from traditional carol concerts to musical film and laser spectaculars at Birmingham’s leading concert venue.

Organist Thomas Trotter will also accompany the choristers of Lichfield Cathedral for a traditional and always popular Lunchtime Christmas Music concert on 9th December. In full period costume, the Mozart Festival Chorus evoke the festive spirits of the 18th century for an evening of Carols by Candlelight, led by conductor Steven Devine and with soprano Laura Parfitt in the elegant setting of Symphony Hall on Saturday 20 December at 7.30pm.
The London Concert Orchestra and three exquisite soloists perform a wonderful mix of famous seasonal pieces in the Christmas Gala at Symphony Hall on Tuesday 23 December 7.30pm, and is introduced by TV presenter Penny Smith. S
oprano Camilla Roberts and Wynne Evans join the LCO and conductor John Pryce-Jones in a wonderful Last Night of the Christmas Proms concert, with all the classics - including Hornpipe, Land of Hope and Glory, Nessun Dorma and Rule! Britannia on Sunday 28 December.
Banish those January blues with two charming, fully staged ballet productions from St Petersburg Ballet Theatre featuring Tchaikovsky’s luscious scores, spectacular choreography, and the extraordinarily talented dancer Irina Kolesnikova. The Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake on Sunday 4 January (matinee) and Monday 5 January.

Alternatively, enjoy something a little different at Symphony Hall this December with a Christmas stocking packed with original performances and concerts. TV star Robert Powell introduces Blockbusters! Music From The Movies at Symphony Hall on Monday 29 December - a fantastic night of unforgettable musical themes from award winning films such as Mission Impossible, Indiana Jones, Gladiator, Batman and The Lord of the Rings amongst others.
Symphony Hall hosts an evening of interplanetary travel with music from hit sci-fi films such as Star Wars, Superman, Thunderbirds and E.T. performed by the London Concert Orchestra to a light and laser extravaganza - Space Classics lands on Tuesday 30 December.
