Conservative Party Conference: Sunday 28th September to Wednesday 1st October

September 28, 2008toOctober 1, 2008

Between 10,000 and 15,000 are expected to head to Birmingham this weekend for the Conservative Party Conference.

The conference is being held at the ICC on Broad Street, and therefore you will see some changes and extra security if you are visiting the area whilst the conference is taking place.

As with the Labour Party Conference back in February of this year, the area will be transformed into “island” site. This will mean some traffic restrictions are in place. Traffic will not be able to drive down parts of Broad Street - but all the businesses, clubs, bars and restaurants remain open for business as usual.

If you usually cut through the ICC walkway this will be closed from the 25th September until the night of the 1st October. Car parks in the area remain unaffected, except for the Rep Theatre car park which will be closed.

For full details of the traffic diversions in place please see Conservative Party Information.

Please be assured that all your favourite venues are open for business as usual during the conference and look forward to welcoming you.
