Aquila TV relaunch!

Aquila TV have undergone a major relaunch to mark a new era in its 14-year history. Based on Broad Street, Birmingham Aquila is a well-known feature on of the Midlands media scene, set up in the early 1990s to offer post-production facilities for the growing number of media companies in the region. In addition to this they now support freelance film makers and provide training and services to Screen WM - the regional funding body for Media in the Midlands and its users. Last year Aquila began to diversify their services further to include original production and feature filmmaking.

Nat Higginbottom, Aquila TV’s managing director explained the reason for the change. “The industry is changing and so we need to diversify and we are breaking into new areas. The rebrand is to give us an opportunity to get out there and let people know we are there and we are able to offer that much more. We will soon be able to offer HD (high definition) in post production and also production facilties. About 30 per cent of our work is web-based media, video for the web and mainly multi-platform media.

“We not only make programme for TV but also the website that goes with it. We will also do programme specifically for the web”.

Aquila TV have just been commissioned by a company to do a six part documentary to hopefully be shown on Channel 4 or 5 later this year. They are proud to be on Broad Street, as its a high profile address, with other high profile media companies around them, such as BRMB radio, ITV Central, Galaxy radio and Heart fm. Broad Street BID wish them the best of luck for the future!
